"People working in post-acute and long-term care are some of the most innovative, creative people in the world. They are stretched for resources and time and deal with the most vulnerable, complex frail elders. But they solve problems that others walk away from, and they create miracles every day. It’s part of their job, and they see their amazing accomplishments as just another day’s work,” says Society Executive Director Christopher Laxton, CAE. As a result, they don’t often think of applying for awards or seeking opportunities for recognition; or, he suggests, they think they don’t have time to apply. Laxton has a challenge for every single Society member. Nominate at least one colleague, mentor, mentee, or friend for one of the Foundation’s five awards programs.
