Certification

What is the deadline for (re)certification applications?

The ABPLM Board of Directors reviews certification applications twice each year. Deadlines are October 1 and April 1.

What's a CMD?

CMD stands for Certified Medical Director, a credential given to post-acute and long-term care medical directors by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) based on experience, education, and competency. Learn more.

Events and Education

What types of credits does Society education provide?

Most of the Society's educational programs provide CME and CMD credits. The Society's Annual Conference provides CME, CMD, nursing, administrator, and pharmacy credits. If you are interested in attending a Society educational program and don't see the credits you're interested in provided, contact your credentialing agency for information on receiving credit for attending that Society educational program.

What's my membership status?

Your membership status can be accessed from the Overview tab of your Profile.

What is the Society's membership cycle?

The Society’s membership term is based on the calendar year. Dues will be collected in the fall of each year for the following calendar year (January 1 – December 31). New member enrollments are effective immediately and will be valid through December 31, 2106.

How can I become more involved?

If you aren’t already a member, join!  Attend the Society's annual conference and educational opportunities. Join your state chapter. Join a committee.

How can I receive Caring for the Ages?

The online version of Caring for the Ages is open and free to everyone. To sign up for a free e-Table of Contents, alerting you when a new issue is available, click here. Print subscriptions are a Society member benefit. To become a Society member, click here

How can I access JAMDA online?

JAMDA is a member benefit (print and online access). Members must login here to access.

Where can I locate my username/password?

Your username is the primary email address connected to your Society account.  If you do not know your password, you can reset your password from the login page.
