In recent years, the significance of videoconferencing and calls has become evident, with apps like Zoom gaining popularity and being regularly utilized. These tools have been invaluable, but, like AMDA Executive Director Michelle Zinnert, CAE, says, “You cannot fully replace the experience of everyone being together in person and the dynamic energy and connections that result from meeting in person.” She highlights the unique opportunities for networking, sharing, reflecting, and brainstorming at PALTC24—from social events and Exhibit Hall visits to meals and informal hallway chats—that give people time to pause, honor their work, and make connections in real-time. “There is nothing else like PALTC24. It is a holiday celebration for our members,” Ms. Zinnert observes.

At the center of the opportunities to network and socialize is the PALTC24 Mixer: Tastes of San Antonio on Sunday evening. “We’re bringing back something popular that was done before the pandemic—a large off-site party with food, beverages, music, and fun,” says Ms. Zinnert. “This mixer is a great way for people to get out of the convention center to get a taste of the city, reconnect with friends, and mingle with attendees.”

Explore additional opportunities for spontaneous conversations and access to new resources, tools, and information within the Exhibit Hall. The exhibits kick off with a Welcome Reception on Saturday from 5:30 to 7:30 PM and remain open on Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Lunch and coffee will be served in the Exhibit Hall both days. The Exhibit Hall is a lively environment where industry and PALTC clinicians come together to exchange information. In addition to providing the opportunity to connect with over 45 exhibiting companies, it includes space for small group conversations, casual meetings, and educational talks on the Spotlight Stage.

While you are in the Exhibit Hall, be sure to stop by the AMDA Booth to explore the updated website and preview the newly updated online Core Curriculum program. At the booth, you can also learn about current volunteer opportunities with various committees.

While there is nothing like getting together in person with colleagues and friends, we realize that it’s not always possible for people to travel to the conference. “This year, we are offering a hybrid program [with a Virtual Learning Track] that allows attendees to tailor their experience to suit their personal needs. The virtual component offers attendees convenience and flexibility while providing access to valuable content,” says Ms. Zinnert. She notes, “This year’s hybrid conference combines the advantages of in-person and virtual attendance and expands the reach of the annual meeting to those who are unable to travel.”
