BE IT RESOLVED, that that AMDA-The Society for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine’s (AMDA) Board of Directors add the topic of requiring post-acute and long-term care (PA/LTC) exposure in schools of nursing for both pre-licensure and advanced practice nursing students, to AMDA’s strategic plan;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that AMDA formally recommend that the American Nurses Association, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, American Academy of Nursing, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Coalition of Geriatric Nursing Organizations, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, and other stakeholder organizations support a mandatory minimum exposure to the post-acute and long-term care (PA/LTC) setting in schools of nursing for both pre-licensure and advanced practice nursing students;

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that AMDA collaborate with the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association to communicate with other stakeholder organizations and to develop a combined strategy to promote of the expansion of PA/LTC experience in schools of nursing for both pre-licensure and advanced practice nursing education.
