During PALTC24, AMDA’s annual conference, the House of Delegates voted unanimously to change the organization's name to the Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association (PALTMed). This name is inclusive and representative of all clinicians working in PALTC and truly reflects who we are, what we do, and what we stand for.

What started as a small group of nursing home medical directors in 1977 under the leadership of Drs. Dodd and Pattee has grown into an entire field of medicine that includes medical directors, attending physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, consultant pharmacists, and doctorly prepared clinicians. This interdisciplinary team of clinicians deserves an inclusive professional association that supports its diverse membership, responds to its interests, establishes practice standards, and encourages professional advancement for all.

Our name change is the first step of a much larger rebranding and membership expansion campaign to transform us into THE association for all clinicians practicing in PALTC. The Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association will continually evolve to meet the needs of our membership and empower us to serve our patients and residents with competence and compassion.

This summer, we are excited to reveal a fresh logo and brand identity, accompanied by a campaign to raise awareness of the remarkable contributions of clinicians in PALTC. The Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medical Association stands ready to be our staunch advocate and champion throughout our professional journey.
