E12 - Long-Term Care Prescribing of Antipsychotic Medications

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that AMDA – Dedicated to Long Term Care Medicine collaborate with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to create educational tools and programs to promote the broad and appropriate implementation of non-pharmacological techniques and pharmacotherapy to manage behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia throughout the long term care continuum. 

AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that our AMDA support efforts to provide additional research on medications and non-drug alternatives to address behavioral problems and other issues with patients with dementia.
