Policy Snapshot

January 12, 2024

As described in the Calendar Year (CY) 2023 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Final Rule, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) broadened the opportunities for the public to provide feedback on MVP candidates from 30 days to 45 days before they’re potentially proposed in rulemaking.

Review Proposed MVP Candidates

Visit the Quality Payment Program (QPP) Website to review the six proposed MVP candidates available for public feedback. CMS will accept feedback on these MVP candidates through January 29, 2024. Please note that proposing an MVP candidate doesn’t guarantee the candidate will move forward in rulemaking.

CMS will display the feedback received related to each MVP candidate on the QPP website following the 45-day feedback period. CMS won’t respond directly to any feedback received but will review and determine whether to incorporate any recommended changes into an MVP candidate. If it determines changes should be made and the candidate will move forward through rulemaking, it won’t notify the group or organization that initially proposed the MVP candidate before rulemaking.

Submit Your Feedback

By providing feedback, you’re participating in the future of MIPS and the development of MVPs. This is your opportunity to ensure MVPs align with your clinical practice needs, support your practice and patient goals, and improve the assessment of quality of care. MVP feedback should be submitted to PIMMSMVPSupport@gdit.com for consideration by 11:59 PM ET on January 29, 2024. Please include the following information in the email:

  • Subject Line: Draft 2025 MVP Candidate Feedback
  • Email Body: Feedback for consideration and public posting. Please indicate the MVP to which your comment relates.
